Virtualization Reviews is an online community where you can learn and share ideas about techniques that work for growing virtualization knowledge and experience.
We’re building a community where minds, careers, and potential are expanded through engagement.
Let’s begin with “Why”…
Virtualization isn’t new, it goes way back to the dinosaur days. Haven’t you ever heard of a vRex – just kidding.:)
The term “VM” has become a common every day term mostly due to the popularity of VMware over the last two decades. But more recently did you know a lot of other software products have joined the virtualization trend?
For example: storage, networks, firewalls, load-balancers, desktops, and many more products are virtual, too!
So “Why” another virtualization community? Well, given the growth and popularity virtualization is still having, especially in the cloud, I believe there is still room for a “special” website like this one.
VirtualizationReviews.com is a good place to get the people who spend their lives “virtualizing” chatting with new-comers.
I’ve been working in this space since 1996 and I know it’s not an easy thing to get real training and advice when you’re a beginner. Most would say it comes with experience and mistakes, which we’ve all made. But I’m not totally agreeing with that method anymore.
Since 2007 I’ve been sharing my thoughts and ideas about VMware and other cool virtual technology on VMInstall.com because I don’t want everyone making the same mistakes.
Over the years I’ve tried several times to start a forum and community, but this time is different. I am really excited about the potential this new online project has for bringing together great technical minds, cool topics, cutting edge technology, and a friendly community.
What I see is this…the future of virtualization depends on people who care and share their experiences and ideas so everyone doesn’t have to stumble in the beginning.
